SPECIAL EDUCATION SCHOOL (SPED)
The School was established in 1966 and provides special education and services to children between the ages of 6 to 18 with Cerebral Palsy and related conditions. Many of these children have multiple disabilities and are not able to benefit from the mainstream education. Teacher-student ratio is kept low so that individual attention can be given to each child. The school curriculum is modified to suit the needs of the children. There is a two-prong educational rehabilitative model that provides both academic skills as well as skills for independent living. Pre-vocational training is also provided for selected students aged 12 and above to prepare them for future sheltered or open employment.
